In addition to our dogs, 3 very much loved thoroughbreds, a barn-sitter goat, and a barn cat share the property! The horses spent their early lives working for a living so, they are now free to be happy lawn ornaments - grazing in the beautiful fresh Utah mountain air. These SoCal horses enjoyed their first Utah winter and were frequently caught making snow angels in the fresh powder!!
Double Gallant "GiGi"
1998 filly
Video of her maiden win on 09/05/2002 at Los Alamitos with Juan Leyva up!
We retired GiGi from the track after this win because she just wasn't happy being a racehorse. She is now a very happy "glamour girl" with a great sense of humor. (click on the photo to see Gigi's Maiden win)

El Fumar "MarMar" 1999 colt
El Fumar is the perpetual playful child - he loves to run! He won his maiden at Turf Paradise in stunning style, coming up from the rear to overtake the whole pack during the last furlong (click the photo to see a video of that race.) Sad part of that is, we didn't own him then:( He later raced at Hollywood Park, Santa Anita, Del Mar, Pomona, and up in NoCal, getting another win and some other races "in the money."

Hotter Prospect "Prospector" 1988 colt
Prospector is my first - the guy who made me a thoroughbred fan for life. A special thanks to those who loved this horse before I was lucky enough to meet him. Prospector reflects the confidence and strength of a horse that has been treated in a kind and professional way from the start. For whatever reason, he never raced. He was later purchased to be a stud horse due to his impressive pedigree. When I met him, he was at Hollywood Park starting a new career as a pony horse. Strong, dignified, and "cut proud," being a pony horse was not his idea of a good time. Not only is Prospector my go anywhere trusted leader, it was through him that I had the opportunity to develop a lifelong friendship with one of the most ethical, caring, honest, and horse-loving thoroughbred trainers on this earth, Dawn Harrison, retired jockey. She and her mentor, Richard Lockwood, have shared with me the finest of the backside! Thank you!Click the following links for Propector's Pedigree

Prospector, looking proud and spry in his 21st year!
Leisl
Miss Leisl arrived at Hollywood Park in the back seat of a little blue mustang. Her mission - to keep El Fumar happy. She did that and more. Leisl gave birth to her baby boy, Fritz, right in Fumar's stall. They were quite the little family. Fritz developed into a very handsome boy. Sadly, while finding trouble in his usual way, he passed away before his 4th birthday.
Big boy Fritz - RIP!

... Cheetah Kitty too!
The latest addition, the barn kitty. She's a sweety and loves hanging with the other critters.
